Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation. 2 Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray. 3 My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up. Psalms 5:1-3 (KJV)
This is a nugget for new saints.
Hello my young brothers and sisters, I just wanted to share a little nugget on quiet time. You may not have heard or familiar with the term “quiet time” but it is vital in your walk and growth in the Lord. Quiet Time, what is it? What does it look like?
Quiet time is a set time to sit with God usually in the morning before the start of day. It’s anywhere from 5 min. to an hour with God in prayer, reading of scripture, again prayer, then meditating on the Word you just received from God.
What does quiet time look like? For many it looks like:
• A prayer asking God to reveal His will through His Word.
• Then reading of scripture. One verse to a whole chapter.
• 2nd prayer thanking God for speaking and asking for clarification on scripture.
• Then meditating on the verse or verses that jumped out at you from the passage you read to see how to apply it to your life.
God is not concern with how long your time with Him is, He only desire his kids to seek to have fellowship with Him each day. Oh how He loves you and me.
I pray this nugget blesses someone. In the beginning you may want to set a timer and turn the phone on low so you can be alone with God. Why? Because the enemy of your soul will try to interrupt this time you’ve set to be with God, for your spiritual growth.
The enemy of our soul, (Satan) doesn’t want us to grow closer to our Savior, but our faith says, push on my child! Push on.
